In the late night hours of Friday, March 29, 2019, God summoned the soul of Jeremiah “Lil Tank” “Ronnie” Bennett, to come and take his eternal rest at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

Born November 25, 1959, in Clarendon County; he was a son of the late Latten and Whelmenia Tindal Bennett. “Lil Tank”, affectionately known as “Ronnie”, was raised by his late grandparents, Benjamin and Earnestine Tindal.

Having been reared in a Christian home and taught the word of God, “Ronnie” joined Historic Santee A.M.E. Church, where he accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age.

“Ronnie” received his formal education in the public schools of Clarendon School District One and graduated from Scott’s Branch High School, “Class of 1977”.

He was a former employee of Bridgett Construction and Hargett Telephone Construction. Later on, became an entrepreneur of many businesses.

“Ronnie” loved to cook and would feed anyone. He had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off of his back – but was not afraid to speak his mind.

His memories will be cherished and remembered by his daughter, Angela Denise Watson of Sumter; one son, Kay’vion Hunter Bennett of Elizabeth City NC; five adorable grandchildren, Tayvon Nelson, Terrance Nelson Jr., Terrian Nelson, Taylor Nelson and Carson Lovely of Sumter; three brothers, Gregory (Shirley) Bennett of Baltimore MD, Elder Nathaniel (Evangelist Darleen) Bennett of Manning and Harry (Evangelist Linda) Bennett of Sanford NC; two sisters, Evangelist Geraldine Calloway of Summerton and Rosita Bennett of Jersey City NJ; extended brothers and sisters, Joseph (Karen) Bennett of Delaware, George Johnson of NJ, Buster Bennett Jr of Summerton, Shirley (Raymond) Owens PA, Sandra (Rodney) Simms of GA, Stephanie (Gary) Evans of PA and Irish (Shawn) Copeland of GA; one aunt, Annie Mae Green of Baltimore MD; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends; special friend, Sheron Brooks.
