On Sunday, August 26, 2018, in a whisper, God called Ms. DeAutra Jones, to rest in His loving arms.


She was born in Miami, Florida on August 27, 1963, to the late Stella M. Jones and Albert M. Richardson, Sr. “Dee”, as she was affectionately known, was reared in Summerton, SC by her late grandmother, Frizeal Jones- Richardson.


Having been reared in a Christian home, “Dee” joined Briggs Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. “Dee” was a fervent worker, serving as a member of several auxiliaries including the Usher Board, Adult Choir and Kitchen Committee, until her health declined.


She received her formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County and graduated from Scotts Branch High School, “Class of 1980”. After graduation, “Dee” furthered her education at Denmark Technical College, where she earned a degree in Information Technology, in 1983.


“Dee’s” heart was huge, and often extended selfless acts of love and kindness to others.  Unconditional love was always given to her children, Jasma and De’Swinyana; and her grandson, Julian. She taught and raised them in a loving, Christian home and church, instilling the importance of having a virtuous relationship with God. Guiding & supporting their choices with prayer which would lead them to their best in life.


“Dee” worked various positions prior to becoming employed by the Lake Marion Nursing Home, where she worked for 22 years.


“Dee” leaves to cherish in her memories; two daughters, Jasma and De’Swinyana Jones; one grandson, Julian Jones; one goddaughter, Shanisty Keels; four brothers, Major Childs, Quincy Childs, Daniel Charles and Albert Richardson, Jr.; six sisters, Cathy Conyers, Nikkia Richardson, Rebecca Childs, Katrina Richardson, Sabrina Richardson and Thomasina Kylers; aunts, Williene Richardson, Sarah-Ann Richardson, Dorothy Jones and Lue Anna McDaniel; uncles, Nathaniel (Essie) Richardson, Willie (Denise) Richardson, Charley (Bertha) Richardson and Duvil Gillard; a host of  other relatives and close friend.
