In his infinite wisdom, God chose to call Lawrence Boatwright to eternal rest, on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.
Born on August 16, 1954 in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Ivory and Bertha Frank Boatwright.
During his formative years, Lawrence received his education in the public schools of Clarendon County. Shortly after graduation, he was employed with Clarendon School District One. Lawrence was employed for many years with various companies; Exide, Sunbeam, Federal Mogul, Gold Kist and was a Manager for Meadowfield & Kingstree Apartments. Prior to retirement, due to his health declining, he was last employed with the City of Sumter.
Lawrence was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Jannette Pearson Boatwright; one son, Byron (Wendy) Boatwright; five daughters, Sharon (Stacy) Martin, Sharon (Willie) Oliver, Shanda Boatwright, Sonya (Brian) Sewell and Felicia (Onasis) Greene; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Leondria (Leah) Boatwright and Eddie Boatwright; four sisters, Bertha Cunningham, Hattie (Woodrow) Williams, Viola Banks and Vivian (Archie) Worthy; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, James Boatwright and one sister, Evelyn King.
