Lucretia Singleton was born Friday, September 6, 1935, in Clarendon County to the late Henry Ragin and Rachel Ragin.
Lucretia as she was known to many in the community attended the public schools of Clarendon County. As a child, and on into adulthood, she attended and became a member of Taw Caw Missionary Baptist Church. In the latter part of life, she relocated to Port Chester, New York where she lived out the rest of her life.
On Monday, September 14, 2020, Lucretia entered into eternal rest at Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, Connecticut. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two daughters Peggy Ann Solomon and Rachel Ragin, 7 children that died in infancy, and one sister, Ruthie Lee (Maxine) Ragin.
Those left to cherish her memories, two daughters, Lila (Wisiq) Sinvilcin of Port Chester, NY, Henrietta (Geoffrey) Hyatt of Dallas, Texas; two sons, Joe Nathan Ragin of Port Chester, NY and George Edward Ragin of Sumter, SC ; 16 grandchildren, two special cousins, Virginia (Tee) Black of Summerton, SC, Joseph Dallas, Jr. of Brooklyn, NY and a host of grands and great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
