Malene Brunson was born September 26, 1927, to the late Rufus Mack and Rena Green-Mack in Summerton, South Carolina. Malene was married to the late Charlie Brunson.

Malene received her education in the public schools of Clarendon County. As a child, Malene accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She truly and sincerely dedicated her life to serving the Lord. She was a faithful and humble lady that was not afraid to let her light shine.

Malene was a very dedicated, loving and devoted part of many lives. She was known to everyone in the community as the special lady with the kind heart and a giving nature. She was loved and adored by everyone that knew her.

Malene, known as “Mabeline”, lived a blessed 92 years on earth. But on Monday, September 21, 2020, God called her home. Malene peacefully transitioned  from earthly labor to her heavenly reward.

Malene is preceded in death by her parents, husband and four children — Renia, Audrey, Charles and Willie; four brothers — Robert, James, George, Marcus; and one son-in-law, Leon Gibson.

“Mabeline” leaves to cherish her fond memories: three daughters — Evangelist Carrie (Joe) McDonald, Susanna (Will) Pearson, and Evangelist Mary Gibson, all of Summerton, SC; four sons — Charlie (Roberta) Brunson, Jr. of Summerton, SC, Keevie (Mary) Brunson of Brunswick, GA, Robert Lee (Diane) Brunson and Sam Brunson, both of Miami, FL; three adopted children — Mack and Betty Miller, both of Columbia, SC, and Joann Miller of Augusta, GA; five siblings — Minister Geraldine Calloway, Blanch Johnson, Precious Gibson, John Mack and Steve Mack; four special people that was close to her heart — her oldest granddaughter Chiquita “Lil Bit” Brunson, Brenda Rhames, Diane Green, and Mary “BaBa” Campbell for whom she loved dearly like her own; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
